5 New TV Shows You SHOULD Be Watching in 2012

  • If you are anything like me, you love a good TV show. The story line is so good that it gives you something to look forward to all week.  The characters are complex and interesting, the plots are full of twists and turns, and the writing is brilliant. This is a list of some of the new shows that I have added to my DVR list for the new year.

  • The first season just ended, but if you missed it, you MUST catch up. This is my favorite new show, and could not believe when the season was over. The show centers around Sergeant Nicholas Brody who is a Marine thought to have been killed in action in Iraq. CIA officer, Carrie Mathison, was also in Iraq where she heard a US Marine has been turned into a terrorist. Fast forward a few years and Sergeant Brody suddenly reappears in a US raid on a terrorist compound. Mathison suspect Brody is the terrorist who is plotting an attack on America. Starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis.

  • Another great show which just ended their first award winning season. American Horror Story follows the story of a small family of three who move to LA from Boston to start fresh after they where nearly torn apart because of an affair. Little do they know, the beautiful mansion they are about to move into is haunted by the numerous murder victims that where all slain in that very home. Starring Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott and Jessica Lange.

  • AMC has done it again. It seems like all they do is pump out amazing TV Series. Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and now Hell on Wheels. The show is set right after the civil war ended in the 1860’s. Cullen Bohannan, a former Confederate Soldier, returns home from the war to find his wife and son murdered by soldiers of the Union. He starts he journey for revenge which leads him to the Union Pacific Railroad’s construction of the first Transcontinental Railroad. Starring Anson Mount, Colm Meaney, and Common.

  • From the creators of LOST comes Fox’s new show, Alcatraz. The show is full of action and also has a cool sci-fi twist built in to it. The story starts on Alcatraz where all inmates and staff suddenly disappear one night. The Government has covered this up and led people to believe it was closed down. Detective Madsen finds herself suddenly in the middle of a Federal investigation to find out where the inmates went, and why they are now suddenly returning to society and continuing their crimes. Starring Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia and Sam Neill.

  • This is a great new show on Showtime which takes a look at a top management consultant team. The show is centered around Marty who is a super successful consultant who does whatever it takes to win. His character is a super slick talking sociopath who reminds me a little of Ari Gold.
